These toasted hazelnuts, glazed lightly with dark chocolate and then confectioner’s sugar, are called Austrian Hazelnuts. Jennifer first sampled them at Café Sabarsky, a Viennese café at the Neue Galerie in Manhattan, which features both Austrian food and art. These hazelnuts are a natural pairing for our complex, honey-flavored Vidal Ice Wine.
Hazelnuts are primarily grown in Oregon, and filberts, their close, more elongated cousin, are grown in Italy, Greece, and Turkey. Ours come from a hazelnut farm in Oregon named Freddy Guy's.
