Johnson Estate has always been shaped by more than agriculture. Service — to country, to community, and to one another — is part of the family story, woven quietly into the estate’s history.
Second-generation founder Frederick Spencer Johnson served as a naval aviator during World War II before returning home to build the winery in 1961. That spirit of dedication and responsibility continues to guide the estate today.
For the Johnson Family, consistently making delicious, affordable wine is our day-to-day passion and the foundation of our enterprise. But on that foundation is built a commitment to “give forward”, to the land we farm, to the people of our community and to future generations. Every year, every season, we aim to leave vineyards, landscapes, people and community a bit better than we found them.
From the vineyards to the tasting room, Johnson Estate is built on the belief that tradition matters most when it has purpose behind it: stewardship of land, gratitude for service, and hospitality that brings people together.
